We break down where various DC characters fall on the magic/science spectrum and where Mark Waid falls too. As discussed in our Martian Manhunter episode, grief builds a monument in our hearts. His brothers are gone, but their lives still influence the remaining turtle’s path. The Last Ronin exposes a darkness fueling the family’s mission and allows us to discuss aspects of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that our previous episodes denied. Cartoonist Daniel Warren Johnson does his thing (along with genius colorist Mike Spicer), pulling you in with the most incredible, kinetic, and badass panels while slowly engaging your heart and soul. When the comic reaches its jaw-dropping climax, you’re shook and probably requiring a little alone time to get all those uncontrollable tears out of your system.

Also, you won’t have to worry about finding exactly what you want for a partner here, because Colorado has quite a diverse type of singles. But, as with anything else you will have to put in some effort.
And a big reason behind why the show works so well is how it circumvents fannish nitpicks by jumping into Miyamoto Usagi’s future, following his brash, teenage descendant Yuichi Usagi instead. Samurai Rabbit skews a little younger than the comics, but it’s not totally absent of corpses or stakes. Also, the series cleverly challenges Miyamoto’s legacy through Yuichi’s idolization. Adaptation is a scary concept when you love something as much as we love Usagi Yojimbo. The idea that showrunners Candie Langdale and Doug Langdale were able to play with his rabbit ronin makes us jittery.
